Glyfada: Tribute to the most famous area of ​​the Athenian Southern suburbs


Glyfada is one of the most sought-after addresses across the Athenian Riviera offering high-end retail shops, numerous amenities and services available, snazzy cocktail bars, all day dining experiences offering traditional and international cuisines with a vibrant nightlife throughout the year. There is also Greece’s first golf club, est. 1966, located on 125-acre site offering its members an 18-hole parkland course, a public and private leisure sport centers including nautical clubs are available, a string of public and private, blue-flagged awarded beaches and one of the oldest marinas are located in Glyfada, with approximately 800 slips accommodating yachts up to 35 meters.



Just 16km from Athens city center from Glyfada residents can visit via car (approx. 20 mins), or via multiple public transport modes, bus (approx. 55 mins) and coastal tram (approx. 55mins). Alternatively, the nearest metro station from Glyfada (10-15 mins by car) is currently Elliniko which takes 17 mins to reach the city center. Astir Beach, Zen Beach, Athines Beach, Akti Vouliagmeni are a few of the locals favorite beaches within a 15 minute driving range. An alternative thermal (healing) experience would be to visit and swim at Limni (Lake) Vouliagmeni where temperatures range between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius throughout the year. It is recognized as Greece’s natural NATURA 2000 network and it and is considered as a Site of Outstanding Natural Beauty by the Ministry of Culture. Other activities recommended are visits to the Ellinikon Experience Centre and to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, in Kalithea.


The new One & Only Aesthesis in Glyfada by Grivalia is expected to open its doors in 2023.The project concerns the reuse and modernization of the 5-star hotel Asteria Glyfada, with a capacity of 400 beds. According to the architectural study, they will be created 115 luxury rooms, 14 tourist residences, 12 suites, an exhibition space and a multi-purpose hall, 2 restaurants, archaeological walks, activity areas for children and teenagers and a rejuvenation center.
