Arachova: Tribute to the queen of the Greek winter

Arachova is a mountainous village nestling picturesquely at the foot of Mount Parnassos, in Southern Greece. It is the most cosmopolitan winter destination,  a favorite for passionate ski lovers and celebrities. Apart from the mountain activities, Arachova is also famous for its bustling nightlife. It is located 35 km west of Livadeia.

Skiing, snowboarding and sledging are few of the sports practiced at the ski resorts of Mount Parnassos at Gerontovrachos, Kelaria and Fterolakka. Visitors must also try hiking from the archaeological site of Delphi to the cave of Korykeio Andro. Arachova is well-known for its textiles, woodwork, dry wines and the local cheese, called "formaela".

Mount Parnassos, with an altitude of 2.260 metres, ranks among the highest mountains in Greece. Its is considered one of the most important mountain environments in our country thanks to its spectacular morphology and rich biodiversity. The ski resort consists of two locations, Kellaria and Fterolakka, which are connected with lifts and runs. A third one, Gerontovrachos, is a small separate resort linked with Kellaria by ski trails.
